Our do-nothing Congress

A continuing resolution is needed to keep the federal government open because Congress did not passed a budget by Sept. 30.

Republicans could reopen the government by finishing the budget process, but Speaker Johnson has sent the House home for a month-long vacation.

The media is focusing endlessly on division, overlooking that it is the Republicans in the House who failed to pass a budget on time, and now refuse to even show up to do their job.
