Thank you to a local hero

On Monday, Oct. 6, โ€‹wโ€‹hile walking my dog on Union Street, โ€‹I was viciously attacked by a large โ€‹unattended dog that was freely running down the sidewalk with another large dog. Darrel White, of Peterborough, stopped his truck and heroically grabbed the dog off me and sheltered โ€‹mโ€‹y little dog from harm. โ€‹ I suffered multiple injuries. โ€‹Dโ€‹arrel most likely saved my life and โ€‹my beloved dog’s life, for which we will be forever grateful.โ€‹ He is our hero.

We are also grateful โ€‹tโ€‹o Aja Linton, of Wilton, who โ€‹stopped and provided essential care and comfort to me at the scene. The timely and professional care of the Peterborough Fire and Rescue EMTs, Peterborough Police, Monadnock Hospital ERโ€‹ team, โ€‹and Kevin Costello of Monadnock Orthopedics was exemplary and deeply appreciated.

My husband, Jim Hassinger, and I โ€‹extend sincere thanks for the outpouring of love and support โ€‹we are receiving from this wonderful community to help us heal physically and emotionally from this unnecessary tragedy.
