The Town of Antrim and local landowners hosted a tour of Antrim Wind on Saturday, Oct. 11. Additional tours will take place on Saturday, October 25.

The tour of the wind farm, led by volunteers from the town and community members, included a drive up the access road to the five turbines on the Russell Hill ridge in Antrim. The tour was facilitated by the Town of Antrim.

The facility, Antrim Wind, is owned and operated by TransAlta. Public access to the wind farm is restricted.

On October 11, community members who had registered for the tour met at the gated road near Tuttle Hill Trail, where groups drove to the turbine sites, which are not open to the public. The project, including a total of nine wind turbines , sits on over 1,700 acres in Hillsborough County. Eight turbines are on 92.5-meter towers, and one turbine is on a 79.5-meter tower.

TransAlta acquired the 28.8 megawatt project in March 2019.
