A 79-year-old Peterborough woman was assisted off Mount Monadnock on Tuesday afternoon after suffering multiple injuries in a fall along the Dublin Trail, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Officials said they were notified around 1:13 p.m. on Oct. 7 of an injured hiker near Old Troy Road. The victim, identified as Mary Cornog, was hiking alone when she fell.

Responders from the Peterborough Ambulance Service, Dublin Fire Department, Jaffrey Fire Department, Dublin Police Department, and New Hampshire Conservation Officers reached Cornog on the trail. After receiving medical attention, she was able to walk with assistance to the trailhead, arriving around 2:10 p.m.

Cornog was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough for further evaluation and treatment.

Fish and Game officials noted that Cornog was well-prepared for her dayโ€™s hike and has many years of experience climbing Monadnock.
