Belletetes, Inc.’s Vice President of Branch Development Sara Belletete has been honored as the Lumber Person of the Year by the New Hampshire Retail Lumber Association.
On Saturday, Sept. 13, Belletete received the award during the NHRLA annual celebration weekend in Portsmouth. The award is granted annually, recognizing an individual for significant contributions to the lumber and building materials industry and their community through civic organizations.
Belletete serves as the president of the board at the NHRLA. Earlier this year, the NHRLA partnered with Belletetes to launch a statewide food drive throughout the month of August to benefit the New Hampshire Food Bank, by collecting non-perishable food items at Belletetes locations and other lumberyards throughout the state. This was an ongoing mission for Belletetes, which has donated over 40,000 to the New Hampshire food bank over the past two years.
Belletete is the sixth member of her family to receive the award. Previous awardees include her grandfather, Reynold Belletete, who received the award in 1987, her father, Jack Belletete, in 1999, her uncle, David Belletete, in 2012, her cousin, Mike Shea, in 2003, and her cousin, Ted Shea, in 2002.
Cory Little, the director of purchasing at Belletetes who has worked with Belletete for over 18 years, introduced Belletete for the award.
