The Great Decisions program at the Mariposa Museum will resume Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. with a program on climate change.

The evening will begin with a video presentation updating climate research and international efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Moderators Peter Henriques and Robert Beck will then offer comments and lead a group discussion.

Henriques worked in international business for 40 years, living and working on six continents. Beck spent his career in the U.S. foreign policy establishment, serving in 11 countries. He writes a monthly column for the Ledger-Transcript, and both men teach in lifelong learning programs at Keene State College and Rivier University.

โ€œChanges in weather patterns are making people aware that โ€˜somethingโ€™ is happening,โ€ Henriques said. Beck added that โ€œthe coming consequences of climate change are likely to influence countriesโ€™ actions on the international stage.โ€

A background article, โ€œInternational Climate Cooperation in an Era of Geopolitical Turmoilโ€ by Joshua Busby, appears in Great Decisions Magazine 2025 and is available at the Peterborough Town Library.

Future topics include NATO and European security Oct. 16, U.S.-China relations Nov. 6, and U.S. foreign policy Dec. 11. Programs are free at the Mariposa Museum, 26 Main St. Donations are welcome.
