The Mariposa Museum will host Myrtle Street Klezmer on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, for an evening of klezmer music blending tradition with contemporary sounds.
The acclaimed five-piece band from Western Massachusetts performs Jewish dance music infused with rock, jazz, Arabic and Balkan influences. Singing in Yiddish, Hebrew and Ladino, the group also shares the history and meaning of the music.
Members include Jason Ditzian (clarinet), Myk Freedman (guitar), Jesse Olsen Bay (vocals, bass, bouzouki, percussion), Bea Carlson (vocals, accordion), and Doug Plavin (percussion). Since 2021, theyโve performed across New England with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and New England Foundation for the Arts.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with music from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mariposa Museum, 26 Main St., Peterborough.
The concert is supported by the New England States Touring program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the six New England state arts agencies.
