A 77-year-old Mason man who was reported missing Wednesday evening was found safe after a multi-agency search.

New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers were notified at 5:55 p.m. that Alan Spear had not returned home after leaving his residence on a utility terrain vehicle at about 2:15 p.m.

Conservation officers responded with ATVs and searched nearby trails and Class 6 roads. They were assisted by the Mason Police Department, Mason Fire-EMS Department, Brookline Ambulance Service, Greenville Highway Department and family members.

At 10:05 p.m., a conservation officer located Spear on a Class 6 road about 1.75 miles from his home. He was transported back to his residence, where he was evaluated by emergency medical personnel from Brookline Ambulance Service and Mason Fire-EMS. Spear declined transportation to a hospital.

Fish and Game officials thanked the agencies and volunteers who assisted in the search effort.
