A Jaffrey man has been arrested on a felony count of criminal threatening with a gun, following a confrontation over an online sale, according to police.

According to a press release issued by the Rindge Police Department, on Sept. 4, the Rindge Police responded to what was initially reported as an assault involving a firearm on Meadowview Road in Rindge. Upon investigation, police learned that there had not been an assault, but there had been a disturbance stemming from “a disagreement about the terms of an online transaction.”

Kenneth R. Bussiere, 64, of Jaffrey, drove to the Rindge residence and allegedly threatened to harm two people while brandishing and pointing a 9 millimeter Smith and Wesson handgun at them.

According to police, Bussiere fled the scene prior to police arriving. With assistance from the Jaffrey Police Department, he was arrested at his Jaffrey residence. The firearm was located and has been seized as evidence.

Bussiere was charged with four counts of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, which is a class B felony. Additionally, he has been charged with two class A misdemeanors, one for criminal trespass, and the other for disorderly conduct.

Bussiere was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey, on Oct. 15.
