The Ingalls Memorial Libraryโ€™s Summer Reading Program in Rindge wrapped up last week, with the distribution of prizes and a visit from Trevor the Games Man.

Over 100 children, teens and adults participated in the summer readingย program this year, according to Library Director Donna Straitiff.ย

Rather than offering prizes for reading accomplishments, the library focused on reading as its own reward this year. However, all who achieved โ€œGrand Masterโ€ status had the opportunity to select a book for the libraryโ€™s collection, subject to a librarianโ€™s review. Each book will include a custom label with the readerโ€™s name.

The Mason Charity Lodge #18 donated grand prizes of two bicycles with helmets. Each person who signed up for summer reading was entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of the bicycles. The Masons have been supporting the libraryโ€™s summer and winter reading programs for many years. Those who were not interested in winningย a bicycle had a chance to win a gift card for Toadstool Bookshop.

Other companies and organizations that supported summer reading includeย Pumpkin Organization of Rindge (POOR), the Rindge Chamber of Commerce, the Rindge Womanโ€™s Club, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club, Charity Lodge #18, Signature Smiles, Hannafordโ€™s and Market Basket.
