Someone recently wrote that democracy is fine as long as we have the ballot box. Perhaps the writer forgot the thousands of people who threatened the vice presidentโ€™s life, number of lawyers who were disbarred or the millions in fines for media outlets for trying to steal the election.
All politics have local impact. Our former governor and now this one have denied a carbon-free energy policy while the nationโ€™s administration has embraced the coal and oil industries by ending the tax credits for renewables and energy efficiency. Perhaps the hundred plus people in Texas who perished from a 24-foot river rise in minutes, or the hundreds who perished in Pakistan recently or the millions who are suffering in an extremely hot Europe would appreciate a voice in whether the environment is an important consideration.
Immigration. If you are a caucasian, you are a direct descendant of an immigrant. The only folks who are not immigrants were living on this continent for hundreds of years; thousands. Do we now feel those folks who look different from us are all bad? How sad people must be to prejudge groups of people without ever talking or having a meal with or working beside due to outright lies and fear mongering. A significant lack of culture.
Once again this administration is arguing that woke is bad. Making fun of handicapped people is not woke. Rewriting history because it sounds bad. Not woke. The Smithsonian and other museums are created as a means to educate the masses, not indoctrinate them. This is just one more example of a man who sees himself as a demigod. He is not. He is a child. A spoiled, poorly educated child. And now … whatโ€™s next?
