New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers helped rescue an injured hiker on the White Cross Trail in Monadnock State Park Thursday.
According to a release from Fish and Game, at approximately 1:27 p.m., the department was notified by Southwestern New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid of an injured hiker. The hiker, identified as Robin Bromley, 42, of Moosup, Conn., had been hiking alone when she fell and injured her ankle. She was located at about 2,400 feet in elevation.
Passersby called 911 and stayed with Bromley until rescuers arrived. After receiving on-site medical attention, she was placed in a litter and carried down to the Monadnock State Park headquarters trailhead, arriving at about 5:11 p.m.
Bromley declined ambulance transport and left the park in a personal vehicle.
Responders included Mountain Patrol rangers from the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Fish and Game conservation officers and volunteers from the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team.
