Fall wild turkey hunting season opens Sept. 15 for archery hunters, while the fall shotgun season runs Oct. 12 through 18 in Wildlife Management Units D2, H1, H2, I1, J2, K, L, and M.

Hunters who did not fill both turkey tags during the spring 2026 season may harvest one turkey during either the fall archery or shotgun season.

Harvested turkeys must immediately have a tag attached and be registered within 24 hours, either online or at an in-person registration station. Hunters who harvest a leg-banded turkey are asked to report the band number during registration to assist state biologists with an ongoing wild turkey survival and population study.

More information and online registration options are available at wildlife.nh.gov.
