The Mill City Rags jazz band will perform Sunday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Old Meeting House, 1 New Boston Road, Francestown, as part of the “Sundays at 4” concert series. The Lowell, Mass.-based group plays early American ragtime, jazz, blues and novelty tunes.
Band members include Jimmy Otis on piano, Rick Posch on bass, Nicole Edgcomb on trumpet and vocals, Jack Mellish on alto saxophone and Jo-Ann on drums. Their set includes music from the 1890s to 1930s.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or blankets. The concert will move indoors in case of rain. The event is free; donations are welcome. The series continues weekly through Aug. 24.
