Claire L. Hebert-Dow will speak about her memoir “Saving Mama” on Thursday, May 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rindge Meeting House, 6 Payson Hill Road. The event is hosted by Ingalls Memorial Library.
“Saving Mama” tells how Hebert-Dow’s life changed course when her plans for marriage and family fell apart, and how her pets helped her rebuild. Hebert-Dow launched her fundraising work with Bow-WOW Fest, a dog walking parade that raises money for police dog programs. Through that work, she met Peggi and David Brogan of Boonefield Labradors in Rindge, who provide comfort and service dogs to police, fire and EMT departments, schools and other organizations.
Members of the Boonefield team will attend the event. Books will be available for purchase. Proceeds from book sales will support local K-9 and comfort dog programs.
