The Hancock Town Library received 33 entries into its annual Literary Peep Diorama competition, topping last year’s count of 26 and making it the most submissions the library has received since the event began back in 2017.
The competition gives residents from Hancock and surrounding towns the opportunity to submit dioramas, made with marshmallow Peeps, based on one of their favorite literary works.
“It’s just nice to see the community getting involved using their wit and creativity,” said Library Director Amy Markus. “It’s a really sweet community event – no pun intended!”
Markus was impressed with this year’s submissions, which were spread across three categories: children, with 12 entries; family, with seven entries; and adult, with 14 entries. Library visitors are encouraged to vote at the library for their favorite submission in each category for the “Peeple’s Choice Awards.” Voting ends on Tuesday, April 2, and the dioramas will be on display until April 8.
