The Mountain View Flower Farm in Dublin has pledged to donate one bouquet of flowers to a person in need of encouragement for every two bouquets sold at ReMarkable LLC in Peterborough.

Started in the shadow of Mount Monadnock, Mountain View Flower Farm has been in operation for three years.

“I started a veggie garden when we first got here, and I didn’t do any gardening,” said Sarah Wilcox, the owner of the farm.

The farm has been a community effort, with Wilcox’s husband Kyle serving as the pastor of the local church, Mountain View Bible Church.

“I inherited all the front gardens with all the perennials and had to learn what to do with those and then some older guys in our church started giving me plants and some Dahlia tubers,” said Wilcox. “I just kind of started planting them to see what happens, and I fell in love with the flowers more than the veggies.”

A friend of Wilcox’s through the church has dementia. She began bringing the flowers to him and other members of the community. Working to safely bring flowers to others through the COVID-19 pandemic, the business became locally popular.

“The first year I started with the subscription model, and I’d like to get back to that,” said Wilcox. “This year, I’m just bringing them down to ReMarkable in Peterborough.”

Wilcox does not intend for the business to become a much larger operation. However, she does hope to implement certain new options into the farm.

“I’d like to be able to maybe do some you-pick stuff,” said Wilcox. “People [can] come and pick flowers and just share the beauty.”

Wilcox can provide flowers to patrons at short notice and has the ability to be flexible with her customers.

“I love working with people and helping them out with their needs,” she said.
