The Marlborough Police Department issued an arrest warrant for a Rindge woman accused of breaking into and stealing from storage units on Route 12.

The warrant is the latest in a series of burglary charges against Jeanette Marie Tyler, 56, who police suspect is part of a broader pattern of storage facility break-ins across New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The Marlborough Police Department issued the warrant for federal burglary charges, according to Chief Zachary Byam. He said police suspect Tyler is currently in custody in Chicopee, Mass., on similar charges but said Marlborough’s warrant still stands. Once the Massachusetts authorities release Tyler, he said, Marlborough police will execute the warrant.

On Sept. 22, Marlborough police responded to a report that several units at a local storage facility had been broken into. After an investigation, the department issued an arrest warrant for Tyler.

Earlier this month, the Winchendon, Mass., Police Department filed similar but separate charges against Tyler for two incidents on Sept. 12 and 14. Tyler and New Ipswich resident Lee Bertram were each charged at that time with one count of conspiracy, six counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, six counts of breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony and one count of possession of burglarious instruments by the Winchendon Police Department.

Amid the pattern of break-ins in the area, Byam recommended people with storage units use round-style hardened padlocks, since regular padlocks on units can be easily opened with bolt cutters.
