On Saturday, July 29, Quebecois singer Josee Vachon and fiddler Patrick Ross will perform at the Jaffrey Woman’s Club from 11 to 11:45 a.m. and 1 to 1:45 p.m. as a part of the Jaffrey Riverfest and Fête de la Rivière.
Born in Québec and raised in Maine, Vachon has shared her Franco-American upbringing through traditional and contemporary folk songs from Québec and Acadia and through her own compositions. In July 1993, she co-founded the folk group Chanterelle with award-winning fiddler Donna Hébert and singer/guitarist Liza Constable, often joined by bass and Cajun accordion player Alan Bradbury. The group released the CDs “French in America” and “Soirée Chez Nous.”
Vachon also has 12 solo recordings to her credit.
