The Friends of the Library will host a Book Donation Saturday May 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room on the main level of Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St.

People can donate up to 20 books in good condition, and Friends of the Library volunteers review all books before accepting donations. Recent paperback and hardback fiction books are popular, but memoirs, biographies and other nonfiction also sell well. The Friends can’t accept magazines; encyclopedias; textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice and computer books, as they become outdated quickly.

Book Donation Saturdays are the only times book donations can be accepted, so people should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop. Summer dates for book donation Saturdays are June 10, July 8 and Aug. 12. Funds raised by book sales help support library services and programs.
