The gallery at MAXT Makerspace, 49 Vose Farm Road, will host an exhibit titled “Threads of Nature” through July, with an opening reception Friday, May 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
“Threads of Nature” is a collaborative exhibition featuring the works of fiber artists Rachel Montroy, Hallie Driscoll, and Danis Collett. Each artist interprets nature through their own vision and process.
Montroy’s sculptural wool and mixed media pieces are inspired by natural organic shapes, while Driscoll uses fabrics to create layered and textured pieces that are inspired by the words and phrases she heard in her youth. Collett’s work explores the natural world through the interplay of light with dyed silks. Viewing hours will be listed on the MAXT website, maxtmakerspace.org.
During the reception, people can meet the artists and have free refreshments. Roy Schlieben and his team will be offering behind-the-scenes tours of the Makerspace.
The event is free and open to the public with parking and accessible parking. For information on exhibiting at future events, contact Pelagia Vincent at pelagiavincent@earthlink.net.
