Francie Von Mertens will present a visual trip through the local natural world Saturday, March 11, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road in Rindge.
Von Mertens was author of the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript’s “Backyard Birder” column for 25 years, and her presentation will include a slide show from her nature almanac and calendar, published by the Harris Center for Conservation Education. A question-and-answer session will follow, and the goal is to provide a “Nature 101” course that leads attendees through the world of plants and animals.
