Saturday, Jan. 14, is the first book donation opportunity in 2023 at Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St.
From 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room, Friends of the Jaffrey Library will accept up to 15 books for the ongoing sales. Saturday will also feature a special pop-up sale of childrenโs books at bargain prices.
Volunteers screen all donations. All donations need to be in good condition with no writing, tearsย or stains on the pages. Recent hardback and paperback fiction books are popular, but nonfiction books also sell well. The Friends canโt accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice and computer books, as they become outdated quickly.
These monthly Saturdays are the only times book donations can be accepted. People should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop. Because of these donations, the sale shelves are reviewed and replenished weekly. Funds raised help support library services and programs.
