Lyndeborough marked the Christmas season on Sunday evening on the town’s common, with a tree-lighting and a visit from Santa Claus, who arrived in one of the town fire trucks.
The ceremony this year was dedicated to Teddy Waterman, who died earlier this year at the age of 58. Waterman was assistant chief of the Fire Department, and had been a member for 32 years, in addition to 10 years on the town’s ambulance service.
The tree-lighting was followed by a gathering in Citizens’ Hall across the road, where there were Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and the opportunity for children to meet Santa Claus and have their photos taken with him.
