From Nov. 16 to 18, volunteers will be putting together 100 pies at the New Ipswich Congregational Church to give out via the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry’s Thanksgiving baskets.
Supplies have been purchased, but the church is seeking volunteers to help make, assemble and bake the pies during the three-day volunteer effort.
Volunteers will meet in the bottom level of the New Ipswich Congregational Church on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. each day to make 30 pumpkin and 70 apple pies.
People who want to volunteer or who can be available to bake pies should send a message to Karyn Veeser or NICC Children’s Fair on Facebook. The church is seeking at least 30 volunteers or bakes to help give back to the community.
The pies will be included in Thanksgiving baskets given to those in need through the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Greenville, which also serves New Ipswich. The baskets will be put together by volunteers at St. Vincent de Paul on Saturday morning, Nov. 19, and distributed to those who have requested baskets later that day. The pantry will also be giving out warm clothing donated through a clothing drive.
