On Saturday, Oct. 8, the second Our Town Trot sponsored by Petrone Real Estate, Cheetah Design Studio and Sweet Macaron was held in Peterborough at Adams Playground, with all proceeds going to five area organizations, of which The River Center was one.
It was a beautiful, if chilly, Saturday morning, with the foliage bright and colorful as over 120 runners crossed the finish line. Community spirit was alive and well, with Dan Petrone at the helm arranging for volunteers along the route, handing out bibs, timing racers, manning the water station and more. Area businesses donated prizes for the prize table and the top runners in each age group received wood medals.
What was most remarkable was watching the families run together and set the pace for each other, as well as seeing the community come alive to cheer each other on.
