We are all sorry that it costs more for gas and groceries. But why would anyone believe that voting for the Republican candidates – some of whom are an embarrassment even to their children— would lower those costs?

Yet the allegedly left-leaning media has constantly flogged the notion that inflation favors the Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections. It has become a talking point for a GOP that has given us unfettered corporate greed (check out the record profits for Big Oil next time you gas up) and tax cuts for the rich as their contribution to economic fairness. They are going to wave a magic wand and be our gas pump saviors? As a matter of reality, it is downright laughable.

Inflation has three causes: the pandemic and its effects worldwide, Putin’s war and climate change, which has devastated many crops. Climate is the only one that could be eased by either political party, and I hope we know which party has refused to acknowledge or act on climate. Prices may well come down, but it will not be because anyone voted for the likes of Mehmet Oz, Herschel Walker, Don Bolduc, J.D. Vance or Blake Masters.
