The Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Congregation is hosting a Samhain celebration Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 5:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to all. It will take place on the front lawn of the meetinghouse at 25 Main St. in Peterborough and will include a fire pit and refreshments.

Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. The event honors the seventh principle of Unitarian Universalism, respect for the interdependent web of all existence, and honors the spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions that celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct people to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.

People of all ages are invited, and attendees may bring their own chairs.
