Gov. Chris Sununu was very clear about Republican senatorial candidate Don Bolduc back in August. In an interview with radio station WGIR on Aug. 19, Sununu described Bolduc as a “conspiracy theorist-type.” That description rang true to me, as Bolduc has vehemently promoted the idea that former President Donald Trump won the 2020 election, as just one example of his extremism.

But I notice that Sununu has now given his wholehearted endorsement to Bolduc. What changed? Does Sununu now back Bolduc’s conspiracies? Or is he shifting with the wind to coddle up to the Free Staters and other far-right extremists to shore up his own political fortunes?

In August, Sununu took a bold stance against Bolduc. Now he is taking a bold stance in the opposite direction. What will tomorrow bring? Stay tuned, but know that you may well get whiplash.
