A Peterborough police cruiser collided with a civilian vehicle in Peterborough Saturday on Route 202.

According to Sgt. Frank Shea of the Greenfield Police Department, whose department is investigating the case, the collision occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Hancock Road (Route 202) near Self Storage of Peterborough. Shea said Peterborough Police Sgt. Vint Boggis was traveling south on Hancock Road and attempted to stop a vehicle traveling north.

“While making a U-turn, a collision occurred with a 2007 Honda Accord operated by Steven Bekier,” Shea said, explaining that Bekier’s car was traveling south behind Boggis. “The [Peterborough Police cruiser] sustained moderate damage to the front driver’s side fender area and was towed from the scene by Steve’s Towing, and the Honda sustained heavy damage to the passenger side of the vehicle and was towed from the scene by Alpha Omega Towing.”

No injuries were reported on scene.
