Paintings by Maureen Ahern and sculptures by Paul Cooper will be featured at the Dublin Community Center during September, with an opening reception Friday, Sept. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. 

Ahern, got her bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst and her master’s in painting from the University at Albany. Her artwork focuses on the natural world, using reflective materials, acrylics and interference paint. Her website is ahernartist.com, and she lives in Dublin.

Cooper has lived in Dublin since 2014. His work is primarily in wood and metal. He has a bachelor’s degree from Benington College and an master’s degree from Goddard College He has taught at UMass Boston Continuing Education, Goddard College, University of Iowa and Keene State College. Residence fellowships include MacDowell Art Colony Peterborough, Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and The Millay Colony in Austerlitz N.Y.
