I’m Donovan Fenton. People ask me why I’m hanging around The Toadstool in Peterborough, the Hancock Market or Dublin General Store. After all, I’m running for state Senate here in District 10.
The Republicans in Concord redistricted the towns of Peterborough, Dublin and Hancock from District 9 to District 10 in an attempt to gerrymander the state Senate to guarantee GOP control of the chamber for the next decade. What they don’t understand is that our democratic values have not changed, no matter how hard they try to dilute our votes.
I have been a state representative for the past six years. I have fought in the State House for the environment, women’s health care justice, child care and gun-violence prevention. I was born and raised in Keene. I help run a small family business here and understand our workforce and housing challenges.
I am a product of Keene High School and will always stand up to protect our teachers and public education. My wife and I are also raising our two young boys here, so I recognize the Monadnock region’s rich culture and history. This is, and always has been, our home.
To the residents of our new District 10, I want to represent you. I want to hear about the issues that are important to you and what I can do in Concord to address them. District 10 needs someone experienced, who understands how the State House works and who has the colleagues and coalitions to protect our values in these uncertain times.
I would be honored to serve as your state senator. I hope I can earn your vote this Sept. 13 and in November. Thank you.
State Rep. Donovan Fenton
Democratic candidate for State Senate District 10
