The Matt Savage Quartet will be performing jazz Sunday, Aug. 14, at 4 p.m. on the Old Meeting House lawn in Francestown.
Consisting of Matt Savage on piano, with Mark Zaleski on sax, Greg Loughman on bass and Zak King on drums, the quartet will be doing a mix of jazz standards and some of Savage’s own original compositions.
A jazz pianist and composer who grew up in Francestown, Savage taught himself to read music as a child. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a bachelor’s degree in performance (piano) and of the Manhattan School of Music with an master’s degree in jazz performance (piano), he balances his professional music career with teaching. He has had a professional career as a jazz musician, bandleader and composer with ensembles of different size and has played with Chick Corea, the Ellington All Stars, Chaka Khan and Wynton Marsalis among others. He has toured worldwide and performed at at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Birdland, the Blue Note, Bohemian Caverns, Scullers and others.

Attendees can bring a picnic and a chair or a blanket. Admission at the door is $15, and children under 16 are admitted free. In case of inclement weather, the show will move indoors; in that case, masks will be recommended but optional.
