Bennington Conservation Commission will hold its annual Contoocook River Paddle Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

After a Bennington Conservation scouting team paddled the river and determined it was impassable in some areas due to large fallen trees, branches, a low water level and lack of rain in the forecast, the location of the paddle has been moved. The group will depart from the Hancock-Greenfield Covered Bridge on Forest Road and will paddle upriver toward Peterborough.

There is a parking lot just east of the bridge with a boat launch. Participants should bring water and a snack, a hat, sunblock and life vest. The paddle is open to anyone with access to a kayak or canoe.
