Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St. in Hancock, will present “Girl As Birch – The Poetry of Rebecca Kaiser Gibson” Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the Daniels Room.

Gibson’s first book was “Opinel,” and she has written two chapbooks, “Admit the Peacock” and “Inside the Exhibition.” Her new book, “Girl As Birch,” is out this month. A recipient of fellowships from MacDowell, The Heinrich Böll Cottage in Ireland and the 2008 Fellowship in Poetry from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, she was selected as a Fulbright Scholar to teach poetry in Hyderabad, India, in 2011.

She is founder and director of “The Loom, Poetry in Harrisville,” a poetry-reading series. Gibson previously taught poetry at Tufts University for 23 years, and lives in Marlborough, N.H.
