Several Monadnock Region churches will be ringing their steeple bells every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for five minutes in support of Ukraine.
The first day of Russia’s invasion into Ukraine was Thursday, Feb. 24. Local churches began ringing their bells Thursday, March 17, and will continue each week as an expression of support for the Ukrainian people and a desire for peace. Churches involved include Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church, All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Union Congregational in Peterborough, United Church in Jaffrey, Dublin Community Church and Harrisville Community Church.
NuDay, a New Hampshire-based nonprofit with a mission to help women and children impacted by humanitarian crises, is gathering donations for Ukraine. There are local dropoff locations in Jaffrey and Peterborough. Visit nudaysyria.org/ukraine for information.
