To the community, thank you to all the people in town who were kind to the Maj. Gen. John Sewall (Retired). He lived his final days here after a life of 50 years serving our country. John grew up in Dublin during the 1930s and 1940s. After living in many parts of the world, he came home. “I love Peterborough,” he often said. Once again, thank you to all: Roy’s Market, the diner, Harlow’s, Aesop’s, the library, Bar Harbor Bank, Hobbs, Steele’s, the EMTs, all the people who gave him rides and so many more. He appreciated everyone.

Thank you, John, for spending time with us here in Peterborough. “Goodbye Grover’s Corners, goodbye Earth.” Rest in peace, general.
