In response to Jeff Dickler’s opinion piece (Feb. 8, “Ordinance is only a problem for violators”), Dickler may not have submitted the ordinance to be placed on the town warrant, but he certainly played a part in getting the petition signed. I know this because he showed up at a friend’s house with it, and I was immediately called after he left.
Since Dickler just moved to Rindge three short years ago from St. Louis, maybe he should stay in his lane until he learns how a small New England town works. If this ordinance had been in effect when the town needed a recreation center, it would never have been built. Thank goodness this petition warrant article got amended at the deliberative session. It would have been a cash cow for the town’s lawyers. Unintended consequences can be costly.
