Patrons of Temple’s Mansfield Public Library can now reserve a pass that will allow them access to Manchester’s SEE Science Center.
According to Library Director Beth Crooker, the funding comes from a rural libraries grant that the library received in the fall. This portion is a $250 mini-grant, she said, that allowed the library to essentially pick what to spend it on.
“We just had to tell them what we wanted,” she said.
The pass is good for two free admissions during any public hours, and only one pass will be issued per day. This offering is exciting, Crooker said, because the library doesn’t have any other museum pass programs in place.
“And it’s not too far away,” she said. “I know Boston can be a bit of a haul, but Manchester is pretty close.”
Crooker said she hopes families in town will take advantage of the pass soon, with school breaks coming up.
“I was glad we got it taken care of before February and April vacations,” she said.
To use the pass, patrons must reserve it with both the library and the science center. It can be reserved from the library by call or email, and pre-registration for the SEE Science Center can be made on its website, see-sciencecenter.org/plan-your-visit-make-plans-to-visit-see.
