Being a pillar of the Bennington community, Joe Cuddemi seemingly is a hard act to follow after his recent passing. Yet he has left a lovable place, still in place, by a dam site. So now in grief, we must trust life’s process. The family members will listen to the wisdom instilled in their DNA, the multigenerational Cuddemi way. And we’ll all continue to follow Joe’s loving pathway of delicious garlic bread crumbs and compassionate tomato sauce.

Perhaps the antique friolator, or whatever, can now be replaced, but Joe’s love of a good meal, well served by very loyal staff at a reasonable price remains priceless. Surely that old building has problems, yet it’s kept clean and very homey, thus just right for home-style meals.

Then there’s Joe’s very special condiments – his genuine concern for others, that established loving connections with staff, customers and community, all part of Joe’s family. He freely gave his quality time and attention, the precious gifts of love.

So, Joe, thanks for sharing your family oasis of love, especially during these stressful pandemic days. And I’m glad you passed the lasagna recipe along to your daughter, Jordan. Now she, with her journalism skills, can write her unique chapter in Alberto’s unfolding story by following Dad’s model.
