After a tumultuous 2020 that nearly ended in closure, Crotched Mountain School in Greenfield announced the sale of its facility to Gersh Autism, which was effective at the end of June.
Now named Legacy by Gersh, the facility has seen a smooth transition of management, according to Gersh Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jen Domash.
“Since the transfer of ownership, we have seen tremendous growth,” she said.
The facility was undeterred by continued volatility of the pandemic, according to Domash, and was able to keep its doors open for families and children. Domash also said there has been an increase in the number of children on campus, and the school expects that number to continue to grow as it adds new programs, including a summer camp for children and a vocational program for high school graduates.
As the facility grows, Domash said Gersh is hoping to recruit more of the surrounding community to work on the campus.
“The whole community has been incredibly welcoming,” Domash said. “We look forward to continuing to support them.”
