A rollover in Hancock Wednesday morning resulted in no major injuries to the driver, according to Hancock Fire Chief Tom Bates.

“She walked to the ambulance, and was taken to the hospital for evaluation,” he said.

The crash occurred on Route 202, and according to Bates, it was caused by icy roads and freezing rain.

“It was due to slick roads, like everybody else this morning,” he said.

When the fire department responded, they found the woman’s car, a Chevrolet Equinox, on its side by the road, and the driver still stuck inside. In order to extricate her, Bates said that the first-responders removed the car’s windshield and guided the driver out that way.

“It was fortunate; it could’ve been worse,” he said, adding that the woman’s condition was good. “It wasn’t anything great or exciting, and we like them that way.”
