A COVID-19 vaccination clinic at New Ipswich Family Medicine on Turnpike Road drew 306 people, both locals and people coming from out of t own for their shots.

The New Hampshire Public Health Department conducted the clinic, in partnership with Monadnock Community Hospital.

“We had a lot of walk-ins,” said Trisha Zahn, the director of communications at Greater Monadnock Public Health Network, which is responsible for vaccine management and volunteer coordination.

Zahn said the majority of the vaccinations were booster shots, followed by pediatric shots and a few people getting their first COVID-19  vaccinations.

“We saw a lot of folks from New Ipswich, but we also heard stories of folks who drove 90 minutes to get their boosters,” Zahn said.

New Ipswich Police Chief Michael Abel was on site to mitigate traffic concerns.

“There were couple of people from the Seacoast that I ran into,” said Abel.

Zahn said Greater Monadnock Public Health Network asked New Ipswich if it would host a police detail.

“It never hurts to engage the community,” she said.

Town Administrator Jim Coffey said he saw people from all over, including Claremont and Henniker.

“This was great,” he said. “I just walked in, got the booster and left.”

Zahn said the clinic will return in 2022.
