I was greatly disappointed to read in Tuesday’s Ledger-Transcript that a group of Rindge residents has filed a complaint with the State of New Hampshire’s Office of Professional Licensure and Certification against part-time planning director Kirk Stenersen (“Group claims planner conflict”).
I’ve known Stenersen professionally for about 20 years and have found him to be nothing but highly professional and ethical. Stenersen’s strong moral character is abundantly clear to anyone who knows him.
The complaint authors suggest that Stenersen has “influence” on the Planning Board. This intimation suggests that Planning Board members are subject to such influence, which is a disservice to these volunteers.
The origin of this complaint must be rooted in the complainants’ dissatisfaction with some Planning Board decision. Parties aggrieved by a board’s decision are afforded due process vis-à-vis a statutory appeals process.
Attacking a dedicated professional’s integrity and threatening his livelihood is an unreasonable, cold-hearted action.
As most people understand, there is a severe labor shortage across industries, trades and professions these days.
Rindge is lucky to have a professional engineer with Stenersen’s experience and integrity acting as its part-time planner. Kirk Stenersen is a great guy and deserves better than this.
