A Rindge resident was transported to UMass after sustaining severe injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Sharon, Peterborough police chief Scott Guinard stated Wednesday morning.

Cory Little, 41, was traveling westbound on Route 124 in Sharon just after midnight when his GMC truck “crossed the solid yellow and collided into a tree,” Guinard said.

Emergency responders got the call at 12:11 a.m. Peterborough Police and Fire responded, as well as Jaffrey Police and Fire.

The truck sustained “extensive” front-end damage and was towed from the scene, according to Guinard. “It’s a total loss to the truck,” he said.

Guinard said that there were no updates on Little’s condition beyond his transportation to the trauma center at UMass. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
