A Temple teen was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester Saturday afternoon after being pinned under an All-Terrain Vehicle.
Travis Drouin, 19, was riding the ATV in the field of a private residence when he lost control of the ATV, and the machine rolled over, pinning him underneath.
Passersby came to his aid, lifting the ATV off of Drouin and calling 911 for assistance. The Temple-Greenville Police, EMS personnel from Peterborough Fire and Rescue, and conservation officers from NH Fish & Game all responded at about 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Drouin sustained a head injury, for which he was hospitalized.
The Fish & Game Department cited operator inexperience as the “primary contributing factor” to the accident. Drouin was not wearing a helmet or eye protection at the time.
โI think it really just goes back to making sure that you are trained and comfortable with the situation and the vehicle,โ said Ed Walker, Chief of Peterborough Fire and Rescue. Walker was responding to another call at the time of the ATV rollover.
