Police identified a Jaffrey man as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on Route 202 in Peterborough Saturday afternoon.
Charles E. Lafreniere, 68, of Jaffrey, was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson southbound on Route 202 near Scott Mitchell Road when the motorcycle left the edge of the road, hitting a curb and a stone wall around 3:35 p.m., according to a press release from Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard later that evening.
“Lafreniere was pronounced dead at the scene by a New Hampshire Assistant Deputy Medical Examiner from injuries he sustained during the collision,” police wrote. The crash was reported as a single-motorcycle accident. Route 202 was closed for about two hours while first responders attended to the scene.
Peterborough police are investigating the collision, and anyone with information is asked to call them at 924-8050.
