Francestown Volunteer Fire Department Chief Larry Kullgren will visit the side lawn of the Old Meeting House with one of the town’s fire trucks on Sunday June 20 at 4 p.m.. All are welcome for this free educational and entertaining event that is perfect for adults and children of all ages.
The Heritage Museum also plans to roll out the “Hunneman Hand Tub” antique pumper, purchased by Francestown in 1850. See how firefighting equipment has changed in 171 years.
As part of the OMH “Sundays at 4” program series, Chief Kullgren will discuss permits for burn piles, fire safety, wild fire prevention, and firefighter training including EMT training. He will also explain how to join the crew of the Francestown Volunteer Fire Department and its Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary has been a positive force for the Francestown fire Department since 1972. The organization has provided help for the Fire Department during emergencies. It has purchased first aid kits and CPR mannequins for department training and classes for residents. Members have organized the semi-annual blood drives and are responsible for producing the local Francestown phone directory.
Donations to the Fire Department are welcome and always needed. Ice cream treats and popsicles will be available.
