Two of the longtime real estate brokers in Jaffrey and Rindge have joined forces to bring their expertise under one roof for buyers and sellers in the Monadnock region.
For almost four decades, Candice Starrett has owned her own independent agency, Candice Starrett Real Estate in Rindge. For the last year and a half, though, she began thinking of what her path forward would look like. Being in charge of a small real estate firm meant having to keep a watchful eye on every aspect of the business.
โI still enjoy the occupation. Iโve always enjoyed it, but so much time was taken up with the office business and overlooking everyone elseโs transactions,โ she said. โIt was time to reduce my workload.โ
She approached Marc Tieger, owner of Tieger Realty Co. Inc. in Jaffrey, within the last couple months about the decision to close her office. But Starrett still had a desire to remain involved in local real estate.
As of April 30, Starrett closed her Rindge location and joined Tieger Realty, along with one of her agents, Jackie Kiley.
โThis type of thing I didnโt go looking for, but Iโm thrilled itโs happening,โ Tieger said. Starrett said she wanted to continue with her real estate work, and within a similar environment to her agency.
โOwning my own business was a wonderful growth experience,โ Starrett said. โAnd for years Iโve worked with the team at Tieger Realty as cooperating agents. When I decided to close my business, I wanted to stay with a small independent office. Iโve seen a lot of changes in town and in the area and want to still be a part of that.โ
Starrett said they are both old-fashioned brokers and felt they could work well together moving forward. Tieger agreed.
โThe way we do business and our philosophies have always been similar,โ he said. โSheโs very well known and well respected. Candyโs been around Rindge for a long time and sheโs a good, straight-up broker and very successful.โ
The move to Tieger Realty allows Starrett to focus more on her clients.
โItโs always about the people,โ she said. โIt always boils down to the people; helping realize their dreams and take that next step in life.โ
Starrett will be an associate broker at Tieger, keeping her licenses in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
โIt was not financially driven at all,โ she said. โIt was about making life more simple.โ
For Tieger, it adds two more experience real estate people to a company that included previously himself and two agents, Larry Alvarez and Joni Shelton, and administrative assistant Pam Gray, who Tieger calls the glue of the office.
โItโs worked out very well so far,โ Tieger said. โI have a hard time with change, but Iโm just looking forward to it. I never thought something like this would happen.โ
