On Saturday, Feb. 27, the Harris Center for Conservation Education will host the 4th Annual Norway Pond Symposium.
Join for a morning of talks highlighting recent research on the ecology of Norway Pond in Hancock. Topics will include: What the 2020 cyanobacteria monitoring program discovered about microscopic pond life; The Lakes Observations By Citizen Scientists and Satellites (LOCSS) project, which is tracking how the volume of water in Norway Pond and other New England lakes is changing over time; and what diatoms and pollen in pond sediments have revealed about the pondโs last 3,000 years.
The symposium will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. via Zoom. For more information and login details, register at harriscenter.org/events.
